Lights Will Guide You Home

When you are lost in the dark;
Look up to the stars to see the path home.

The sailor's maiden will shine for you;
Look up to the heavens to see the door.

In a Fog

What to be when you can't see;
What to do when you are in a fog.
Sit tight and be quiet;
Sit tight and beg for a break of light.
One will come, there is hope;
One will come, there is no other way.
The clouds will pass and the darkness will be no more;
The clouds will pass and the light will shine.

A Boy Called

A boy called forth has become a man.
A man called forth calls another.
A son.
A father.
A son.

Who calls forth the orphan and who claims him as his own?
It is Him who has called us orphans forth.
It is Him who claims us orphans as His own.

A call is but a call.
Only action can answer the call.
And only a call can bring this action.

A cycle.
A circle.
Infinty.

What happens when the cycle is broken?
Who can mend a circle?
Only He who began it all.
Only He who gave the first call.

You Have Him

Are you too afraid to let it go,
the pain inside,
the deeds left undone?

Are you too ashamed of the ties that bind,
the hurt inside,
the unloved scorned?

You have Him, the One, who began it all.
You have Him, the One, who calls your name.

Are you too hard-headed to call His name,
to confess with the tongue,
to bend with the knee?

Are you too hard-hearted to think this through,
to run to Him,
to let it all loose?

You have Him, the One, who began it all.
You have Him, the One, who calls your name.

Are you too bashful to say what you mean,
to tell it like it is,
to speak your mind?

Are you too prideful to listen to the criticism,
to hear the pain,
to follow the call?

You have Him, the One, who began it all.
You have Him, the One, who calls your name.

He is hear.
He is hear to listen, to hold, to call.

You have Him, the One, who began it all.
You have Him, the One, who calls your name.

Sometimes I feel...

Sometimes I feel...

Too short to build a fort,
Too tall to walk a hall,

Too fat to swing a bat,
Too skinny to drive a Mini,

Too smart to let a fart,
Too dumb to peel a plumb,

Too calm to climb a palm,
Too wired to work a plier,

Sometimes I feel but not always.

Lose what is Lost

Perhaps one of the most deadly “spiritual diseases” is the creeping loss of the childlike faith.

To lose what one once had because of slow growth and maturity is sadness. To be once full of faith in others and in Him and then to talk it all away is horror. Of this I struggle and of this I fight.

My Life

Slow down, be with me
Don't speak tonight
Breathe deep, hold tight

Thoughts are drowning
None can fit
You are here, this here is right

Bare it all, be it all
I hear, I hear the call

The night is short and mourning dawns
Your presence here, here it calms

All of You and none of me
Let this be before the hour comes
This time, this now

All of you, breathe deep breathe all

What is the point

I love to write
I hope it's beautiful
To create to call forth words from the fog
To paint with words, to move them all
What is better than beauty to behold
But to tell love's story
To sit
To hold
